Why MPS fails on the Diversity Report Card

Why MPS fails on the Diversity Report Card

On May 24, 2016, I attended a Milwaukee Public Schools budget hearing. One of the leading items that caught my attention was to approved $471,000 for a MPS initiative tied to the Black Lives Matter movement. The restorative practices initiative would "create spaces for staff and students to dialogue about and develop solutions to challenges faced by young people in their communities every day." I presented a speech to board to persuade them and the audiences to consider other important aspects that our children must be informed about. Here is the transcript of the speech below:

I was born and raised on Milwaukee's near west side and graduated from MPS. I have lived throughout the inner city over the years and presently do now.

I have served proudly in the military in support of the Iraq war, worked 7 years as an entrepreneur and 4 years as an ordained minister.

I have met, served, and unified with people of many walks of life. I understand the importance of unity and removal of all taught prejudice beliefs about people.

Change is what you seek? But what do you propose with the indoctrination of Black Live Matter? All human forms of life matter. If you do not believe this then surely you are not here for change. Unity is what I am illuminating and spreading in the community. I am also strongly for your free speech.

But if you want true change the government can't ignore, then join me in transforming the current spreading messages as I live to do as a leader in this community.

I hope for the solution of the problems outlined in this resolution that you consider to pursue Article 5 of our US constitution in which we call on all of our states to a convention to take a legal path for the states to repair the issues Congress won't fix.

All lives matter I believe. But if you just believe only Black Lives Matter then you will miss the point that generations of all races have been affected by the same overreaching government. I propose let's not let the generations of men and women who gave a lot for freedom to go to waste.

Help me to make sure our future generations can enjoy freedom. Public schools are available to all races and this why we should be teaching our kids unity and collaboration with the diverse population of people in all parts of this state, country, and world. They need to be ready for the world outside their classrooms, city, and country. Maybe one day, even the world.

Most importantly don't let your hard work and voice go to waste. If you want to get leaders in D.C. worried then cement your voice and the voice of others.

Thank you and please follow your heart.

My ideas are built on the rationale and logic of the people.
